Hacienda Heights, CA – Family Portraits

After many weeks of postponing this family session due to the rain, we finally made it out to Hacienda Heights to capture a loving family with the cutest baby boy. The sun even decided to make a short guest appearance on this cloudy day, enough time for us to get in some awesome photos. Here are a few of our favorites.

We are suckers for cute babies. Aren’t they the cutest (boy/girl) twins ever?! We spent a couple of hours being silly to try to make them smile and look our way. We ended up singing elmo songs, making funny faces and just having a ton of fun photographing these two cuties – and their beautiful parents! Below are some of our favorites from the session.

We met this super cute family back in 2009 when we photographed their first family session in the OC. Jen contacted us again recently for another family session and we couldn’t have been more excited!! Ryan and Sophie were only a year younger then, but boy have they grown. We were so excited to see them again! It’s always fun meeting other families, hanging out and discovering so many similarities in our own lives. We love how this family interacts – with patience, thoughtfulness, love and knowing how to have tons of fun. That’s what a healthy & happy family is all about. It’s amazing how kids make such a big difference in our lives. Ryan and Sophie are so smart, well mannered and as cute as can be. We love you guys and thanks for allowing us to capture all these precious moments! We loved how the photos came out, thanks to Jen’s color coordination for the family! It was a beautiful, sunny day last Saturday and Cal Poly Pomona was the perfect location for our family session. What’s interesting is that most of us either graduated from there or have attended classes there. Kenny and I both graduated in 2000 with the same major, but we didn’t know each other at the time. We haven’t been back to the campus since – I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. So many things have changed and they now have a beautiful Japanese garden right behind the administration building. Our goal for the day was to get some family portraits for each family and then a group family portrait. The single family portrait attempt was a dud. The kids had way too much fun running around so it was a big challenge rounding everyone up. We all had a lot of fun though! At least we got the group family photo and some great shots of the kids. Until the next attempt at a family session, here are a few of our faves:

The cuties in the family: Daryn, Dylan, and Kareena. Kyle was either playing or napping in grandma’s arms the entire time! See group photo above! Kareena adores her two older cousins – they’re pretty much her two older brothers. Watch out boys, Daryn is almost at the black belt level in Tae Kwon Do.

She’s growing up so fast. We didn’t pose her for this one. What a natural!

We were finally able to steal Kyle from grandma for a second. I love how close they are and how much they adore one another.

Janett is one of the most nurturing and loving mothers I know. It’s amazing how much love she has for her boys.

Oh Chris. You are just way too handsome! Look at that sweet face, those dreamy eyes and that charming smile! Like Ryan from the previous post, these boys got their good looks from their mama! :)

And Jonathan, one of the sweetest babies ever.

I loved watching the boys play and keep each other company. They absolutely adore each other!

San Marino – Palatto Family Portraits

We had a couple of really fun family sessions over the weekend in San Marino with some of our good friends. It was a quick session for each family, but we got quite a few favorites to share!

It’s been over 9 months and I still can’t get over how cute Ryan is and his infectious smile!

beverly hills – baby jack’s portrait session

Welcome to our new blog! We are so excited to share everything that’s been going on! As some of you may know, Kenny Phan Photography and Vanessa Lam Photography have merged into one, becoming Phan Photography. We’ve been putting all of our focus on the new brand, new web site, new blog and new services that we’ll be offering, so hopefully we’ll be able to provide you with an even better experience for your photography and wedding needs!

We recently did a baby portrait session for a super cute family in Beverly Hills and it couldn’t have come at a better time. We are so excited to have portraits of baby Jack (and his beautiful parents) grace our first blog post! Baby Jack and our own baby boy, Kyle had the same expected due date – crazy, right? What are the chances? They both decided they didn’t want to share the same birthday though, and ended up arriving on different dates. I thought that was pretty crazy and interesting to share. Here are some of our favorites from the session.

Angie and Jeff – they are one of the most down to earth, sweetest and cutest couple we’ve met.

We encourage and love it when our couples suggest the type of shots they want to include in their session – this was one of them. I love Jack’s expression in these!!

Can you feel the love from this photo? We sure can.

I love those big eyes!
Baby Jack was really fun to photograph because he kept following our camera. Most of the shots we got has him looking straight at us! I love his baby fat rolls! I really have a thing for baby fat rolls and friends of mine who have babies are always telling me to not eat their kid. Nom nom nom…how can anyone resist?!
What do babies think about?
He’s cute even when he’s got a pouty lip! It’s hard being a baby!
So angelic. He was taking a break – a nap that lasted for maybe five minutes, and then he popped up again for the camera!
