]]> http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/2011/07/upcoming-posts-nancy-mikes-wedding-kevin-joannas-engagement-and-linda-mikes-engagement/feed/ 0 The Santa Anita Church, Smitty’s Grill & The Langham Hotel – Carmen and Sam’s Wedding http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/2011/06/the-santa-anita-church-smittys-grill-the-langham-hotel-carmen-and-sams-wedding/ http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/2011/06/the-santa-anita-church-smittys-grill-the-langham-hotel-carmen-and-sams-wedding/#comments Wed, 01 Jun 2011 17:31:00 +0000 phan photographers http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/?p=2171 Carmen and Sam had an amazing destination wedding here in LA.  It was so thoughtful of them to travel thousands of miles from Hong Kong to celebrate and share their special day with family and close friends.   Having a part of their wedding here undoubtedly shows how much their family and friends here mean to them.  Sam used to live in LA and attended UC Irvine.  Shortly after graduation, he moved to Hong Kong to pursue his teaching career and through some friends, he met his beautiful wife, Carmen.  To celebrate with their loved ones in LA, they had a wedding ceremony at the Santa Anita Church in Arcadia, followed by a very intimate dinner reception at Smitty’s Grill in Pasadena.  It was truly an honor to witness and be a part of their special day and it was great to see them reunite with their family and friends.  In December, they will have an elaborate and amazing wedding reception to celebrate with their family and friends in Hong Kong. 

Carmen and Sam, we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness in your new life together!  :)

]]> http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/2011/06/the-santa-anita-church-smittys-grill-the-langham-hotel-carmen-and-sams-wedding/feed/ 0 Capital Seafood – Monterey Park, CA – Linh and Dan’s Wedding http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/2011/03/capital-seafood-monterey-park-ca-linh-and-dans-wedding/ http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/2011/03/capital-seafood-monterey-park-ca-linh-and-dans-wedding/#comments Tue, 29 Mar 2011 19:05:20 +0000 phan photographers http://www.phanphotography.com/blog/?p=1969 Linh and Dan’s wedding is the perfect example of a festive and joyous traditional Chinese ceremony.   The wedding had all the essential elements – elaborate decorations in red, a family altar where the couple would pay homage to the family ancestors, a tea ceremony to honor the couple’s parents and family members,  trays of gifts brought to the bride’s house by the groom and his party, a large roast pig, lots of red packets (from the groom) to offer to the bridesmaids so that they’ll “surrender” the bride, and a few challenges for the groom to complete in order to get his bride.   The ceremony was followed by a fun-filled reception where guests feasted on a 10 course dinner and partied the night away.

Laura and George’s wedding at The Four Season’s was beautiful!  With the beautiful venue, gorgeous newlyweds and amazing details, everything blended together so perfectly.  Laura and George are both so sweet and thoughtful.  Their love and generosity for others were evident throughout the day not only to their guests, but to their vendors as well.  Thanks to Laura and George’s wedding coodinator Linda of Lumiani, we were extremely well taken care of and were constantly reminded to take quick breaks, eat and hydrate.  We felt really spoiled , actually.  =)  

It was an honor for us to be there and to witness a wedding that was filled with so much life and love.  Congratulations Laura & George and thank you for having us document your big day!

The ceremony details were equally amazing – the flowers, the set up, the live band, trays of exotic fruits, and gifts/dowry from the groom.   It was an intimate day one as the couple was surrounded by family and close friends.  Below are some of our favorites from the day.  Thank you Wattey and Rothana, for allowing us to photograph and experience such an amazing and beautiful cultural wedding.  Check back soon for images from day two of this amazing wedding!
