Hollywood, CA – Carmen and Sam’s Engagement II

Our little trip to the infamous Walk of Fame in Hollywood for Carmen and Sam’s second e-session was interesting, to say the least.  We had an amazing time exploring Hollywood and taking photos, but we had quite a few weird encounters.  We definitely saw a bunch of interesting impersonators, but the one thing we won’t forget was Sam’s rental car.  To make a long story short, that car had a mind of it’s own – in a crazy and creepy kind of way.  The car radio kept playing after we turned off the ignition and took out the key AND the map light inside of the car just wouldn’t turn off – those two things remained on, even after we locked the car and walked away.  Super creepy.  We’ll save the scary stories for another time, but that made the engagement session even more memorable – so that’s all that matters, right? :)

Below are a few of our favs, check back soon for e-session 3 at the beautiful Pasadena City Hall. undefined

Griffith Observatory, CA – Carmen and Sam’s Engagement

Carmen and Sam flew in from Hong Kong for an amazing destination wedding here in sunny Southern California.  They had an epic three day engagement session in Hollywood, Pasadena and at the Griffith Observatory.  We had a blast seeing them enjoy the beautiful sights of LA and at the same time having this special moment documented to last a lifetime.  This set is the first of three engagement sessions followed by their private and intimate wedding in Pasadena.  Below are our favorites from The Griffith Observatory:

Redondo Beach, CA – Nancy and Mike’s Engagement

What was supposed to be a cold and rainy Sunday turned into a bright and sunny day for our couple, Nancy & Mike.  The day couldn’t have been better – we had steamed dungeness crabs, fresh oysters, churros, funnel cake, and ended up shooting one of the steamiest engagement sessions to date.  Nancy and Mike are so cute together, funny and super easy to get along with which made the session so much fun.  Thanks guys, for the coffee and a wonderful time at the beach!  :)

Capital Seafood – Monterey Park, CA – Linh and Dan’s Wedding

Linh and Dan’s wedding is the perfect example of a festive and joyous traditional Chinese ceremony.   The wedding had all the essential elements – elaborate decorations in red, a family altar where the couple would pay homage to the family ancestors, a tea ceremony to honor the couple’s parents and family members,  trays of gifts brought to the bride’s house by the groom and his party, a large roast pig, lots of red packets (from the groom) to offer to the bridesmaids so that they’ll “surrender” the bride, and a few challenges for the groom to complete in order to get his bride.   The ceremony was followed by a fun-filled reception where guests feasted on a 10 course dinner and partied the night away.

Thank you Linh and Dan for having us photograph your special day!   Also, special thanks to our second photographer Richard Cao of Richard Cao Photography for second shooting for us.  Below are some of our favorites:

Hacienda Heights, CA – Family Portraits

After many weeks of postponing this family session due to the rain, we finally made it out to Hacienda Heights to capture a loving family with the cutest baby boy. The sun even decided to make a short guest appearance on this cloudy day, enough time for us to get in some awesome photos. Here are a few of our favorites.
